Second Helping is a 1974 album by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was the band's second album, and featured its biggest hit single, "Sweet Home Alabama," an answer song to Neil Young's "Alabama" and "Southern Man." The song reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1974. This was the first Lynyrd Skynyrd album to feature the band's trademark triple guitar attack and also the first album to feature Leon Wilkeson on bass and the last to feature Bob Burns on drums. The album reached #12 on the Billboard album charts. It was certified Gold on 9/20/1974, Platinum and 2x Platinum on 7/21/1987 by the RIAA.
This reissue of the 1974 release Second Helping features an exact reproduction of its original artwork to retain authenticity, and is pressed on 180 gram heavyweight audiophile vinyl. With a catalog of over 60 albums, sales beyond 30 million worldwide and their beloved classic American rock anthem Sweet Home Alabama having over two million downloaded ringtones, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd remains a cultural icon that appeals to all generations.
